A Quiet Session is Quietube's primary focus environment. When you enter a Quiet Session, your device transitions from an entertainment portal into a dedicated study instrument, locking out distracting apps and protecting your focus timer.
How a Quiet Session Works
At the center of every Quiet Session is Quietube's synchronized focus engine, ensuring consistent focus protection across your entire device:
- Distraction Blocker is Engaged: Social media apps, video reels, short-form clips, and designated distracting websites are blocked instantly.
- Notifications are Silenced: Non-critical application alerts and messaging pings are suppressed so they never interrupt your train of thought.
- Focus Timer & Break Cycles: Your session runs on a precise countdown timer, supporting deep work intervals and structured study breaks.
Starting Your First Quiet Session
- From the bottom navigation bar, tap the Focus / Quiet tab.
- Select your desired study duration (e.g., 25 minutes for Pomodoro, 50 minutes for deep work, or custom hours).
- Select your session mode (Standard Focus, Strict Focus, or Scheduled Routine).
- Tap the Start Quiet Session button.
Session States: Focus vs Break
Quiet Sessions support structured breaks to prevent mental exhaustion:
- Active Study: Timers tick down, XP accumulates per minute, and app/notification blocking is strictly enforced.
- Break Mode: Notification muting pauses and the app blocker softens, allowing you to hydrate, stretch, or review notes before your next study sprint.
Stopping or Ending a Session
If you need to end a session early, tap End Session on the active timer screen. In Strict Mode, an intentional confirmation barrier ensures you do not quit impulsively during temporary moments of frustration.
